Study tour in Portugal

Within the framework of the project “Strengthening Capacity of Civil Society for Expanded Social Services” (SuCCESS) financed by the European Union, on July 3-8, the association "Anika" organized a study visit to Portugal.

The purpose of the visit was to study the various social services in Portugal in detail and to learn about the involvement of the central and local authorities and the distribution of competencies in their implementation.

The study tour participants were - The head of the Department of Social Protection Policy of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection of IDPs from the occupied territories of Georgia, the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the mayors of the target municipalities of the project - Lanchkhuti, Baghdati, Kharagauli, Kedi, Kvareli, deputy mayors of Chokhatauri and Shuakhevi municipalities, and representatives of partner service provider organizations.

During the study tour we visited our host organization - Fundação AFID Diferença. Within the framework of the study tour, the working group visited the service providing organizations of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, as well as representatives of state structures and bodies and representatives of Portuguese municipalities.

Within the framework of the visit, the working group got information about the European standards of social services, gained information about the services in Portugal and the involvement of the central and local authorities in service delivery.

The project "Strengthening Capacity of Civil Society for Expanded Social Services" (SuCCESS) is financed and supported by the European Union and is being implemented by Association “Anika” in partnership with „Telavi Education, Development and Employment Center“ (TEDEC).
