Assistive technology to the way of independence for the people with disabilities

The aim of the project - To increase the degree of independence of PWDs and promote employment by using assistive technologies.

Activities

Within the framework of the project, the association "Anika" purchased auxiliary tools, which made it easier for people with disabilities to work with computers and communicate. The association "Anika" team was given a 3-day training on the topic of adjustment and use of assistive devices by the international trainer Kamil Matha. Participants and companies/organizations willing to join the project were searched, after which 15 participants with disabilities participated in a 3-month paid internship process in various companies and enterprises. During the internship, each participant was provided with assistive devices tailored to their individual needs by an occupational therapist.

future activities

The assistive technologies acquired within the project remain in Anika, and new participants will also have the opportunity to adapt and use the assistive technologies to promote employment.

 

Results


The participants gained knowledge and experience and studied/strengthened skills necessary for employment, which they will actively use in the future.

Those who wish to be consulted about the purchase of auxiliary equipment within the framework of the state program of the Ministry of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection.

The psycho-emotional state of the participants has improved significantly, and motivation and self-confidence have increased.

Immediately after the internship, 2 participants were employed in the same position, and it is planned to continue cooperation with two more.
